Our Story
Where West Africa
Meets London Energy
Born from a love of bold flavours and late-night cravings, Suya Jerks brings the fire-grilled traditions of West Africa to the heart of London.
The Beginning
From Street Food to Restaurant
It started with a simple idea: bring the authentic taste of Nigerian suya and Caribbean jerk to London's streets. What began as a passion project quickly became a movement.
Our founder grew up watching roadside mallams in Lagos grill suya over open coals, the aroma drawing crowds from blocks away. That same magic—the sizzle, the spice, the smoke—is what we recreate every single day.
We've taken the best of West African fire-grilling and Caribbean jerk traditions, fusing them into something uniquely ours. No shortcuts. No compromise. Just real food made with real love.
What We Stand For
Our Values
Authenticity
We stay true to the traditions that inspired us. Real suya spice, real jerk marinades, real fire-grilling. No artificial shortcuts.
Community
We're more than a restaurant—we're a gathering place. A spot where culture, music, and food bring people together.
Energy
From the kitchen to the playlist, we bring vibes. Every visit should feel like an experience, not just a meal.
Quality
Fresh ingredients, bold flavours, consistent execution. We don't cut corners because you deserve the best.
The Food
Suya Meets Jerk
Suya is Nigeria's legendary street food—thinly sliced beef rubbed with yaji spice (a blend of ground peanuts, ginger, paprika, and cayenne) then grilled over open flames until caramelised and smoky.
Jerk hails from Jamaica—a fiery marinade of scotch bonnet peppers, allspice, thyme, and garlic that transforms chicken, lamb, or prawns into something unforgettable.
At Suya Jerks, we honour both traditions while creating something new. Our kitchen is where Lagos meets Kingston, where peanut spice meets scotch bonnet heat, where tradition meets innovation.
